Keely's Latest Tricks!

Keely was so excited about her new cousin Karli Ann she celebrated by showing off some new tricks this weekend. First, I taught her the Tiger Rag dance. So periodically throughout the day as we prepared for the game, we would break out doing the dance together while I sang the tune! I think her Clemson outfit will be the new weekly Saturday attire. Unless of course the game is a Thursday night ESPN special. Uncle Steven should be relieved that there game is Thursday the week of his wedding so she can wear a dress for that.
Then she surprised Daddy with her next trick. And everytime I see her doing it, I just laugh! What nine month old can hold a water bottle and actually drink out of it by herself!! She'll even pick up my glass if I am not careful and drink out of it too! As long as there isn't a lot in it, she doesn't even spill! It is too funny. But of course, if a lot of people are around, she just stares at the bottle. She won't pick it up. At least I caught it on camera. And yes, there is water in it!
Lastly, she is standing on her on holding on to stuff. Which means, Gramps, that I am putting the rail up on her crib now. (She actually can't sit up on her own yet, but I am afraid she will figure it out all too soon.) Her favorite place to stand is holding on to the bookshelf and pulling all the books and toys on top of her. Then just sitting and enjoying the mess she has made! When I hold her hands, she'll actually starting trying to move her feet. So maybe walking isn't too far off after all. Still no signs of crawling. One of the girls in my high school Bible study was trying to show her how yesterday. Keely just looked at her like she was crazy. Then when we tried to put her in the crawling position she rolled over to me and pulled on me to sit herself up again. Oh well! Maybe cousin Karli Ann can show her how. At the rate we're going, she'll probably crawl first!!!
