The Power of the Beach

The girls and I have been sick this week with a nasty virus that gave us all fever and conjestion and completely wiped us out. (I think we gave it to Yaya too, sorry.) So when none of us had fever for the first time in a week, and the weather was gorgeous, we decided we should follow Memaw's example and head to the beach! Memaw use to always say the beach cured her whenever she was sick and I remember them make sudden trips to Myrtle Beach just for that reason.

So we packed our lunch, toys, towels, bag, stroller, and everything else you have to remember with 2 little ones and drove to the beach. We stayed for 2 hours, had so much fun, enjoyed a picnic, and came home feeling much better!! (I guess Memaw was on to something.)

Keely has never liked the sand. As a matter of fact, before today, she never played in the sand! I didn't even have a swimsuit on her because I knew she wouldn't do anything except look for shells. WRONG! She was all over the place, running in the water, jumping in holes, sliding on her belly (as seen above). It was so much fun!! But after her sandphobia, I knew you wouldn't believe me unless I took a picture.Macey is a woman after my own heart. She loved every minute of the beach (except when she feel face first and got sand in her eyes). She was actually the difficult one today crawling all over the place, trying to pull up on everything, dumping water on herself!Because I wasn't planning on the intense playing time, we had to strip down in the car because everything was wet and sandy. I didn't have my usualy change of clothes, so here is how Macey arrived back at the house. But she went straight to bed, so it was worth the back of the car bath with wipes.
