Keely and Baby

Last week was a busy week, but ia fun one. Thursday, my friend, Rachel had somewhere to go and needed me to watch her four week old little girl, Elisabeth. I was excited about having a new born around but kind of nervous about how Keely would do. Well, Keely was great! She was quite curious about the "little creature." I put Elisabeth in my travel swing and Keely moved over to her trying to pull up and see her. Then when I was holding her, Keely just wanted to hold her to (by grabbing at her).

But the funniest thing was when I changed one of Elisabeth's diapers, I was trying to clean her up, not get her dirty and keep Keely away from her. But before I knew it, Keely had grabbed Elisabeth's passie out of her mouth and stuck it in her own! She doesn't even like passies and wasn't even sucking on it. It was that twisting it around, biting it, trying to figure out what it was for. So I finished the diaper, took away the passie, got them both new, sanitized ones for Elisabeth to suck on and Keely to play with.
This week I start my infamous coaching career back. I took maternity leave last year but have been asked back. We'll see how it goes. I am only assisiting of coarse. That way I don't have to be mean. The only down side is practice falls right in the middle of Keely' nap so we are not sure yet how we are going to work that out. Right now her long nap is in the morning (she still hasn't figured out the time change and wakes up TOO EARLY) so I think we can sneak a short nap in before we have to leave. Calling all family members, if any of you want to move close enough to come stay with Keely every afternoon during basketball season, the next phase in our neighborhood is opening and we'd love to have you!
