DISNEY WORLD!!!

Doug and I both went for "short" runs today (4 miles). Doug came back feeling great never thinking 4 miles would be considered short and loving the way running now makes him feel. That alone brings a thrill to my heart because I never thought I would see the day when he enjoyed running. He is even willing to consider another marathon! I came back depressed realizing I am no longer training for anything and my runs are just runs. But since it was a beautiful day, we packed a lunch and headed to the beach! It is well deserved after enduring the freezing temps from last week. What a gorgeous day and a glorious way to celebrate MLK day with Daddy home.
I have to admit though, we have been home 5 days now and I am still reminiscing our week in Disney, wanting to plan another trip already (knowing it will be years until we can save up enough money again.) Instead, I thought I would blog about some of my favorite moments of the week.
Moment #1: Downtown Disney
We visited Downtown Disney three days because it was free and they had so much for the little ones there. And in their mind, it was Disney World. The first day was by far the best. We took pictures with every Disney character (statue). Keely would go climb on them and hug them. And Macey would tag along until we found Mickey. When we saw Mickey, Macey charged full ahead with a tackle hug (of course it didn't tackle since it was a statue) and planted a huge kiss on him! It was precious. I wasn't able to captured that one but was ready when she went for Minnie.

Moment # 2 (T-Rex Restaurant)

Aunt Jeslyn was our official tour guide for the week because she gave us many time and money saving tips...like spending time at Downtown Disney instead of in the parks or riding the monorail around MK since we were inside the resort for dinner anyway. So when she said, take the girls in the T-Rex Restaurant, it is really cool, we did as she said. Well, it is really cool...FOR BOYS!!! They have life size dinosaurs that move, talk, and then there are storms that scare them and they really get going. It was quite impressive but the girls were a little apprehensive. I was trying desperately to get a picture of us in front of one of the dinosaurs but the girls would see their teeth and think they might bite us. I kept explaining they weren't real. So when Keely found a "friendly" one and agreed to take a pic with it, I quickly put her in front of it and went to get Macey. Well, when I turned to get Macey, the dinosaur started moving and hit Keely! She FREAKED out completely. And I lost it completely! Not much help for my screaming four year old. Needless to say, when we tried to take Daddy back a couple of days later, the girls had no desire to show him the place. And I ended up with no pictures from it either.

Moment # 3 - Meeting the Princesses

We had dinner at the Grand Floridian Sunday night after the marathon with Cinderella and her family. Each family member came by the table and spent time talking, playing with the kids, and taking pictures. When Cinderella made her way to our table, Keely stood up hugged her and planted a huge kiss on her with the biggest grin I have ever seen. Then she proceeded to tell me that she is real now and not just pretend anymore! So when she got to see Cinderella, Belle, and Sleeping Beauty altogether a couple of days later, it was a real highlight. I love watching magic come to life in the eyes of innocent children.

These are in front of the statues at Downtown Disney, but the other ones are on my mom's camera so they will have to do for now.

Moment # 4 - Common Interest

When you ask the girls what their favorite thing was, they both answer, "the big, fast rollarcoaster!" It just thrills Doug and me since we both love riding them too! Of course, the one they are talking about is the kiddie one but hey you have to start somewhere! Here are some of the other rides they enjoyed.

Yes, it was indeed a great week. And the company is part of the reason it was so great! Thank you Aunt Jeslyn, Yaya, and Caca for putting up with us for a week! Doug says if I start organizing closets and attics for people, I can put all the money towards our next Disney trip. So if any of you out there need organization help, just put me to the task!
