The Waiting Game
I am now 37+ weeks into my pregnancy. The baby could come any time now. We are all ready and anxiously waiting. Obviously, that is what is occupying our thoughts and plans. Thus, instead of any real exciting times, I would like to share some quotes from our daughters that keep us laughing.
Quote #1: While fixing dinner one night, I was baking cookies for a meeting I had to go to immediately following dinner. Thus, I called everyone to the table and had them sit to eat. I walked over and said (while standing beside everyone seated), "Go ahead and pray and eat. I will sit when the cookies are done." Doug asks who wants to say the blessing to which Keely without hesitation looks at him, points to me and says, "Let's ask the waitress to say the blessing."
Quote #2: Macey wet herself one morning while she was awake. Keely comes and tells us. When Doug goes in, she is lying on her back with arms crossed behind her head. Doug asks if she wet her bed. She says yes. He asks why she didn't go to the potty. She responded (still not moving): "Well Daddy, I needed my rest."
Quote #3: I am getting tired and moving slow. So when bed time comes, I can't wait to put my feet up for the night. One night we were tucking the girls in. I was waiting for them to go potty so I sat on Macey's bed waiting. When she came in, she looked at Doug and says: "Could you ask the pregnant lady to get off my bed?"
The three of them are getting to the point where they can all play together. It is nice and will really be helpful when I am preoccupied with the new baby.
Here is a picture of Kres being himself. He is a clown! I don't even remember what we were doing but I know I turned around for merely a minute and when I turned back around, I found him like this inside the girls' baby doll stroller.
Writing this and seeing these pictures reminds me how different each of our dear children are. They are all so special in their own way. How fun to see what the new little one will be like. We are truly blessed and treasure each day with them.
