Soccer Mom

Last year I became a soccer mom (I even drive a minivan to prove it). But this year I am a PROUD soccer mom! Keely and Macey are playing on the same team. And to me it is the most adorable soccer playing you have ever seen. Macey brings out Keely's competitive side (which never came out last season). And Keely feels the need to "show" Macey how to play. They want to play in the same area each time (offense or defense). But now that we are four games into the season, Macey is getting better about not needing Keely with her at all times. Macey is still a little timid but actually pays attention which is more than I can say about Keely from last year. Keely is quite the little player this year. She even scored a goal! That was definitely the proudest soccer mom moment yet! Then in the next game, she took the ball down to the goal line twice before the goalie stepped in (in this league, the whistle blows as soon as the goalie touches the ball). Keely and Macey have each had their turn at goalie (and enjoy playing it too). The team we are on is full of parents who enjoy watching their girls have fun and learn the game. The atmosphere is better than last year when the parents were too competitive. Most games I am there by myself, but it is well worth it to see the girls self confidence growing, get some exercise, learn team building skills and most of all HAVE FUN!!
