Our Week in Review

Well, Doug went on his trip to the Dominican Republic! And we had quite the week without him. As all moms with young kids know, we were dreading the week knowing there was no Daddy coming home at the end of each day to distract the kids. But I think we got along just fine. We started the week off with a fun day celebrating our friend, Price's birthday. We went to the Sandbox, an interactive musuem for children to play in. Then went back to his house for lunch and cupcakes. Here is Keely climbing through a tunnel on one of their gym sets. She also enjoyed climbing up and down the ladder on the Pirates' ship. The plane wasn't as exciting for her because there wasn't anything to climb. But she did enjoy seeing herself on tv, and using the pillows in the story time section as a trampoline!Keely and Corrine painted pretty pictures in the craft room that excited Karissa and me more than them because they had everything you could possibly imagine to make the most wonderful pictures. The girls were only interested in the paints.
Saturday we spent the whole day at a resort with a friend of mine going back and forth between the beach and the numerous pools. We once again discovered how much fun Keely can have in a baby pool.
Then after a rough night on Saturday, which included Macey waking up and a smoke alarm going off, we decided to take Auny Alley up on her offer to spend the week with them at the beach. So the girls and I packed up and had a vacation of our own! Yaya even came down and joined us!! We had a great time going to the beach and the pool each day. And we did a great job working on our tans. The girls loved having cousin Mollie to play with. Of course I forgot my camera so you'll have to visit Mollie's facebook to see any of them.
Before we knew it, it was Thursday evening. We were packing up, heading home and going to bed so I could go pick up Daddy from the airport! Yipee!! Since the girls didn't get to see Daddy before he left for work Friday, we surprised him by bringing him lunch.

The girls were so excited to have their Daddy, he got stuck holding both of them for a pretty long while. Neither one could stand to part with him. We are all glad he his home and blessed to have a long weekend to make up for the time lost last week. And once again I was reminded of how blessed I am to have such great family to come in and keep me company (and help with all the dirty work)!
