A Week of Debuts

I had a surreal moment this week watching my oldest child perform in her first school performance.  It was surreal for several reasons.  First, because I remember being that child performing and I can't believe I am observing as a proud parent.  Second, because she was quite natural, not a bit nervous, and I am not quite sure where she gets it from.  And third, because I haven't seen 3 siblings more impressed by a sister's performance.  They sat mesmorized for 45 minutes watching her every move even when she was sitting on the risers watching the other classes perform.  Sorry I couldn't figure out how to rotate the video.

Today at church was another first.  Kres joined the Children's Choir at church this fall.  They usually don't let them start until they are four but they wanted more boys and since we are there on Sundays anyway asked if he wanted to.  He was thrilled.  Today was there Christmas performance.  It was his first time singing in church.  It was a big deal to him because he invited his three favorite college boys.  They not only came but brought other friends too.  I am pretty sure he had the biggest audience there!
All three of the children (as well as all of their friends) did a great job.

We also were asked to light the advent wreath as a family this week.  It has definitely been a special week in this household!
