Neverland!
Our annual fall festival was last weekend. Macey of course was Wendy. So Kres had to be Captain Hook which I found a costume for a couple of weeks ago. We already had a crocodile costume so Wes didn't get to pick what he was. And Keely couldn't decide what to be (I offered to let her follow the them or not) and so she chose to not dress up at all. The best part of the evening though was after the Fall Festival when two high schoolers heading to the high school party stopped by dressed as Peter Pan and Tinkerbell.

Fall Festival is the only thing related to Halloween I let the kids participate in and I only do so because they actually don't relate it to Halloween at all. My kids have never questioned this in the past. And last year when they saw kids walking around celebrating "Halloween" they chose to give all their candy from the fall festival to them to share Jesus' love. But now that Keely is in school, that changes. She realizes there are people who love Jesus and trick or treat. Of course this meant I am the worst Mommy in the world since I deprive her of this. Many discussions and arguments commenced until last weekend when she found out there are other people who choose not to celebrate Halloween. Once she found out she wasn't alone, she as fine. And since this is the first year they cared, we let them choose our family tradition. We went out to eat and then came home and watched a movie. And it was fun! We survived another October (quickly becoming my least favorite month of the year with all the horrendous decorations our neighborhood likes to display) but can't believe we are into November with the holidays just around the corner.
