Catching Up
For the past three months, I have been trying to figure out how to log into google after Doug's school switched to gmail. It kept telling me I couldn't access it. But low and behold, all I had to do was sign him out and viola, I am back! However, I have three months of info to update everyone on. January was a great start to the year. Last minute, Doug had an extra adult ticket to Passion so I got to go with him and the senior class to the conference. It was a wonderful experience being with him and seeing what has gotten so many of our high school and college students on fire for Christ.
The week we got back from Passion, our bug man returned and gave our house a thorough investigation for any sign of remaining bedbugs. We were given a clean bill of health! He not only didn't find any live bugs, he found no eggs, dead ones, no sign of life at all. That means he got them all on his first round (which is usually not the case). He is confident we are safe and the team work of my cleaning and his treatment worked. We are so thankful to have that behind us.
As for February, Keely remained top reader in her class for the entire quarter. This did not surprise us because we knew she loved to read. But when we had our parent teacher conference, we found out she is also the top with her Math Facts! So happy math is coming easier to her than it did to me. Macey is reading confidently now. She read our Bible story tonight for family devotions. I am so happy with her progress because for so long she dreaded the thought of reading. Kres is excited we registered him for his first season of soccer. He will start playing in March (the girls will too but not as exciting since they have played before). Wes does a great job of trying to keep up with everyone. He makes up his own words. He tries to play on the same level with everyone else. And above all makes all of us laugh more than anyone else!
Doug got some job news. He is going to have a little different position next year. He will remain at HHCA, but in more of an administrative role. He will still be over the Bible department, but developing a mentoring program with students as well. We are excited about the change as it allows him to continue to teach while also pursuing his passion of discipleship.
Sorry there are no pictures this time. I will try to write again soon with pictures from the past three months. But I love having the blog as a place for me to look back and remember each parenting phase and felt it was important to fill in the blanks before I forgot them.
