Last weekend we got an unexpected 3 day weekend with Daddy due to the unpredictable Hurricane Hanna (school was cancelled). But we ended up with GREAT weather. So we decided to celebrate by having a fun backyard bash. We borrowed a blow-up water slide that Doug was determined to set up for the girls (I kept telling him they would be just as happy with the inflatable pool). Much to his dismay, after trying for over an hour to get the slide to work, he finally got the pool out for the girls to play on "while they fixed the slide." Needless to say, the slide didn't work. But koodoos for he and Jason who tried so hard, for so long. Jason's quote of the day, "Maybe single life isn't so bad afterall" realizing the great lengths Doug was going to for some afternoon fun for the girls.

Doug didn't hold back though because the football lineup was good all day long. He wanted to make sure the guys didn't have to miss any of the games, so he had a tv outside set up for them. Trevor's team had the afternoon game, so he was more tuned into the game than the others.

The girls still had a great time, sliding, swimming, splashing, anything to stay cool in the heat, is it really September? Macey has come a long way this summer. She usually prefers sitting on the outside and splashing but she climbed in, stomp around, and entertain us all with her amusing faces. Please notice, she is wearing her shoes in the pool though. I am afraid her older sister is rubbing off on her a little too much these days. She is even starting to not like getting dirty...sound familiar? Keely seems to be outgrowing it so there is hope for Macey too!
We are all looking forward to another great football weekend. Keely actually asks to watch football on tv and when she can go to another game. Doug and I are celebrating that we have raised her so well!
