Here We Go!

I want to start off by apologizing in the long delay in writing. We have completed our mission trip to Jamaica as well as our long seperation from the girls. The mission trip was GREAT though it was hard to be away from the girls. I thought of them constantly and would love to take them down there sometime. They would interact well with the students and in the Deaf Village there are actually little kids of the families there they could play with!
We have way too many pictures from the trip to share so instead I'll put pics of the girls (we all know they are much more fun to look at anyway). The girls seemed to have a great time going back and forth between the grandparents. Macey actually gained two pounds which put her back on the growth chart when we went for her one year check up!

And now, to enlighten you with pictures from the past couple of weeks....

While Keely was at Yaya's house, Uncle Kent snuck up behind Keely and Kait reading Curious George with this hideous looking moneky mask, thinking it was funny. But when I asked Keely about her week, one of the few things she talked about was "monkey scare you" "uncle kent, monkey." I had to call for an explanation. Well, we talked about how it was pretend and it was silly. So the next time we went, we got Keely to put it on and "scare" Uncle Kent. I couldn't believe she would. But she enjoyed doing it over and over for everyone that came in. It just never stayed on very long.
Playing hide and go seek at Yaya's and using all our old hiding places. This is inside the grandfather clock. Don't worry, it broke years ago, probably from US hiding in it.We made a quick trip to Columbia to surprise Tom for his 60th birthday. It worked! Brent's crew and Keith were the only ones missing. And Tom was completely dumbfounded. Any excuse to get the cousins together is worth it but this evening was extra special celebrating such a remarkable occasion.Macey winning Gramps heart forever!Keely sneaking some of the 60 chocolates we gave Gramps. What a guilty look! All THREE of us matching in our Jamaican dresses (mine is actually from Bahamas a long time ago). These are my two friends I made at CCCD in MoBay. They both work at the school, but I was thrilled to get to know them! By the end of the week, I had gotten proficient enough I didn't have to ask them to slow down signing.
