It's Beginning To Look A lot...

...like Christmas. This year for Thanksgiving we stayed home. It was a relaxing long, weekend. Doug had 3 days off from school and we decided to make our own Thanksgiving traditions. On Thanksgiving, we ate with some good friends of ours down here whose daughter, Alison, was home from college. They had a special children's table for the girls and even brought Alison's old toys down from the attic for our kids to play with. The day after Thanksgiving, we cooked our own turkey dinner. And we decorated the whole house for Christmas! We finished the day by watching Polar Express while eating popcorn and hot chocolate. The girls remembered us doing that last year and have been asking to do it for a while. It is definitely a tradition now.
The rest of the weekend included being lazy, watching football (some very disappointing games, but atleast Ohio St beat Michigan) and just spending time together as a family. I never thought I would be so content just to stay home without extended family but as our family grows (as good as it is to be with grandparents, cousins, etc) I treasure the moments when it is just us.
