Girls Night In

Doug had his middle school retreat this week which meant the girls and I would be home alone for 2 days. Not really all that long but when you are tired and sick, it doesn't sound too appealing. Fortunately, I had some of the high school girls volunteer to come over and keep us company for the afternoon and evening. They arrived just after nap time and stayed until bed time!!!

As soon as Abby walked in the door, she and Keely disappeard into Keely's room. I could hear laughter every now and then but I sat and enjoyed visiting with the other two girls (Macey kept going back and forth between the rooms). I realized this was even better than when Daddy was home. Soon Abby came out announcing she wanted to introduce Keely....Here is what came out!
I figured out what they were doing in there, playing dress up. And I don't think Keely has had that much fun before. This morning she got out of bed and asked if she could dress me up. They even got Macey in on it at one point.
Soon it was dinner time. I pulled out the stuff to make breakfast for dinner...a fan favorite at our house. Before I knew it, once again the girls came in and took over. Other than a few directions every now and then, they took care of it (including the clean up afterwards).
Then they took the girls and gave baths! What a Blessing! In other words, I didn't have to do anything! I guess they figured since Doug was getting a night off from Daddy duty, I deserved a night off from Mommy duty. For some reason, I am pretty sure my night off was a lot more relaxing than his. Three cheers for Abby, Kara, and Molly!!

What a sweet gift! I know you needed the break. Price still talks about Keely and Macey a lot and whatever church we go to, he expects to see Keely in the nursery.
