We are enjoying our fall weather by staying outdoors all day! I laughed when the alert was issued the other day about how urgent it is for parents to start giving their kids Vitamin D supplements. "Kids today just aren't spending enough time outdoors....it would only take 5-10 minutes twice a day..." I feel sad for the poor kids who can't find that much time outdoors. It is more like I have to drag my girls in when it is meal time or bed time!! They don't even care where they are. Today they spent about 15-20 minutes outside of the library jumping off the wall. A father saw us and thought it was a brilliant way to pass the time. I think it is a great way for me to sit and enjoy my beautiful daughters make yet another game out of nothing.
Needless to say all the time outdoors leaves us all tired. So today when I finally had enough energy to get online and catch up on things, I realize..WOAH..it's been a while since I blogged. Sorry! But I do have some pictures from our past weekend in Columbia so I will stop talking and just share the pics.

We took a trip to the pumpkin patch with Yaya while we were in Columbia. In my mind, I was thinking the girls were the perfect age to go, run around, enjoy the animals, and actually get excited about picking out a pumpkin. Yeah right! Keely got scared by a bunny rabbit as soon as we got there and was ready to leave. After convincing her the bunny was nowhere in sight and she was safe, she quickly spotted a playground and no longer had any interest in anything else. I tried to explain how we didn't drive 45 minutes to play on a playground, she didn't seem to understand or care.

After giving them time to play on the playground, we snuck them away and explored some of the family friendly displays. Keely got into this by running back and forth between all of them hardly stopping for a picture.

She also had fun removing the pumpkins from the display (not the ones for sale) and bringing them to Mommy and Daddy. She would quickly run away!! It turned into quite a game of me trying to put them back before she got another one off.

Macey was very proud of her pumpkin and insisted on carrying it to the car by herself. I tried to help but she didn't want any. She kept dropping it though. So finally, I picked her up and she carried the pumpkin (my hand was underneath) and we were able to make it.

Yeah, cute photo spot!

One of the ways we lured the girls off the playground at the patch was to promise them time on Yaya's swings when we got back. The surprise was Aunt Casey was at the house waiting to play with them on the swings! Macey was so proud she could swing in a big swing like her sister.
